The Moon

Time comes oozing through a crack in the wall
And space keeps dripping from a tap in the hall.
A black and white cat naps on a mat down in between
And further in, some little funny men are playing games,
And by the edge, at the far-side wall,
A bull begins to croon
While dreaming of his country love and gazing at the moon:

The moon, the moon, harpoon it soon,
The moon, you loon, you big buffoon!

A whirlpool whirls around them all with time and space's dance,
Eternity envelops them inside the great romance.
And by and by there'll be nothing left
But sea and sky and fishes,
And a little boy and a little girl
And an old one washing dishes.
